The verdict
Use ChatGPT if you enjoy managing the process: writing prompts per chapter, pasting summaries back in, fixing repeats, then formatting in another tool. Use create-ebook if you want the book, not the process: one sentence, a plan you approve, chapters written in order with a review, a cover, and store-ready files. - Conversation. You can argue with it, ask for five angles, test a title.
- Anything that is not a book: emails, ads, a blurb, a chapter you then rewrite by hand.
- Price if you already subscribe and publish rarely.

A fair caveat
Both produce a first draft. Neither replaces your reading, your corrections and the parts only you know. Books that sell have a real person’s experience in them; the tool decides how fast you get to the draft where you can add it.

It uses large language models through an API, currently from OpenAI, orchestrated by our own pipeline: plan, chapter-by-chapter memory, checks, editorial review, rendering. The model is a component, not the product.
Can I export a ChatGPT draft into create-ebook?
Not yet. You can paste your own text into any chapter after generation and edit freely.
Which writes better English?
On a single chapter, comparable. Over a whole book, create-ebook, because every chapter knows what the previous ones said.
Do I own the book?
