Workbook
Workbook: A workbook is a book built around exercises: each chapter explains one idea briefly, then asks the reader to apply it with prompts, checklists, tables or reflection questions. Coaches, trainers and course creators use workbooks as lead magnets, as companions to a programme, and as a paid product that turns advice into practice.
What a good workbook chapter looks like
- A short explanation, one to three pages, of the concept.
- An example filled in, so the reader sees what “done” looks like.
- The exercise itself, with clear instructions and space or a prompt.
- A check: how to know it worked, what to do next.
Print versus ebook
Fill-in boxes work in print and in a PDF; they do not work in a reflowable EPUB. The usual answer is an EPUB where exercises are prompts the reader answers in a notebook, plus a printable PDF of the worksheets, offered as a download from inside the book. That download is also a natural place to collect an email.
Workbook as a business tool
A workbook does three jobs for a coach: it demonstrates the method before the sale, it structures the sessions during a programme, and it keeps the client working between sessions. Priced between 9 and 29 € as a product, or free as a lead magnet, it is the format with the clearest path to a paid offer.
Frequently asked questions
How long is a workbook?
40 to 120 pages in print. As an ebook, 8 to 12 exercise chapters is a full programme.
Can create-ebook write a workbook?
Yes, it is one of the five formats: explanation, example and exercise per chapter, exported as PDF, EPUB and DOCX.
Is a workbook a low-content book?
No. It carries real teaching; the exercises are the point, not the blank space.
