Space has one structural problem as a coloring theme: the background is black and the page has to stay white. What makes a good space coloring book
Keep the sky open. A page covered in stars becomes a field of dots that is tedious to color and prints as a grey haze. A dozen well-placed stars say “space” just as clearly.
- Big subjects: a rocket, an astronaut, a ringed planet, a rover, a space station. Draw them large enough to carry the page.
- Surface texture: craters, swirling gas bands, panel lines on a hull. That is where the coloring detail belongs, not in the background.
