create-ebook vs Designrr

By the create-ebook team · Updated 2026-09-20

Designrr is a content repurposing tool. You point it at a blog post, a document, a PDF or a video, and it pulls the content into an ebook, a lead magnet, a flipbook or a Kindle-ready file, with templates and a visual editor to make it look designed. create-ebook starts from one sentence and writes the book that does not exist yet. The difference between them is simply whether you already have the words.

What Designrr is genuinely good at

Turning what you already published into something you can give away. If you have three years of blog posts, a webinar recording and a folder of client documents, Designrr is the shortest path from that pile to a designed PDF with your branding on it. The import is the clever part: URLs, documents and video transcription all land in the same editor, and the template library means the result looks intentional.

For marketers running lead magnets, that is a weekly job, and doing it by hand in a design tool is slow. Designrr was built for exactly that loop and it does it well.

Where it stops if your goal is a finished book

Designrr needs a source. If the content does not exist, there is nothing to import, and a layout tool cannot invent the argument of chapter four. It also has no view on whether the imported material holds together as a book: a stitched-together set of posts usually repeats itself, and readers notice.

create-ebook produces the source. You approve a plan where each chapter has one job, the chapters are written in order with memory of the earlier ones, and each one is checked for filler and repetition and reviewed before you read it. The typeset PDF, the EPUB and the DOCX come out of that same manuscript.

How each one charges

Designrr is a monthly subscription. Their pricing page lists Standard at $29, Pro at $39 with Kindle export, Premium at $49 with an AI image generator and transcription hours, and Business at $99, with agency plans above that; check their site for current pricing and for how transcription hours are counted, since that is what separates the tiers.

create-ebook is pay per book, no subscription. You read chapter 1 in full and the opening of the other chapters before paying.

The practical workflow difference

Designrr starts with a URL and ends with a designed file. create-ebook starts with a sentence and ends with a manuscript plus the files. A common combination: write the book here, export the PDF for direct sales and the EPUB for Amazon, and use a repurposing tool to spin the chapters back out as posts and lead magnets. The flow runs naturally in that direction, because a book is easier to cut up than a pile of posts is to assemble.

When to choose Designrr instead. If you already have the words, choose Designrr. If your job is to publish a lead magnet every month out of existing material, choose Designrr. If you want a video or a webinar transcribed and laid out, choose Designrr. Come here when the book has to be written before it can be designed.

Frequently asked questions

Is create-ebook better than Designrr?

Only for a book that does not exist yet. If your content is already written, Designrr gets it into a polished PDF faster than anything we do, and we would tell you to use it.

Can I import my blog posts into create-ebook?

Not as an import. You can paste your own text into any chapter after generation and edit it freely, which covers the case where a few posts should become a few sections.

Can Designrr write content for me?

Its plans include AI features alongside the import and layout tools. Check their site for what the current tiers include. Writing a whole structured book with chapter memory and a review per chapter is a different pipeline.

Which produces a better Kindle file?

For Kindle you want a reflowable EPUB from a manuscript, which create-ebook exports as standard. Designrr lists Kindle export on its higher tiers; check their site for the format details.

Which costs less over a year?

Designrr bills monthly whether you publish or not. create-ebook is pay per book, no subscription. If you ship a lead magnet every month from existing content, the subscription earns its keep.
